Dr Roger Perkins
Micro TESE procedure Perth
And may it help with male infertility?
Microsurgical Testicular Sperm Extraction (micro TESE) is a surgical procedure recommended for men who have non-obstructive azoospermia. In short, it means there is no sperm in the ejaculate. However, it doesn’t always mean there is no sperm in the testicles.
Micro TESE for men with non-obstructive azoospermia
Who is micro TESE for?
"So when I perform micro TESE I search for sperm from a very limited number of active seminiferous tubules (where sperm is produced and transported) in the testes. There is a 40% chance we actually find sperm in men who have been told they have non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA), or in other words a lack of sperm in their semen."
What is micro TESE?
What is involved in the procedure?
" I undertake all Micro TESE procedures at Bethesda Day Hospital where the Fertility Specialists Clinic is located as well. That is a huge advantage because we examine the sperm samples on the spot, and you will be informed about the success of the procedure on the same day. You won’t need to spend the night at the hospital. I will give you detailed instructions about post-op care. I will review your wound the week after surgery."
